Torrey Lake Petroglyphs

These petroglyphs are believed to be the work of the ancient Sheepeater Indians. Expect a moderate hike with some steep climbs to see ancient images pecked into the stone. The Dubois Museum has an exceptional exhibit about the Sheepeater Indians and offers guided tours of the site. Please be respectful, this is a sacred site. Do not remove rocks, plants or animals from the area.
About three miles south of Dubois on Highway 26, take the Trail Lake Road (Forest Road 411). Petroglyphs are found across from Ring Lake.
